The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833, in Paris, by Frederic Ozanam. Frederic and a group of fellow students started to seek out and visit the poor in their homes, taking them bread and clothes, their friendship and their concern. The group took as their Patron, St. Vincent de Paul. Today, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a worldwide lay organization of Catholic men and women, young and old of every race, who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those in need.
The Holy Trinity Oconto Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was restarted in 1999 and fully aggregated on March 26, 2004 Active members of the Society, called Vincentians, meet monthly and more often as needed. Meeting times are published in the bulletin.
Members hold a spring Clothing and Bedding Sale to provide access to low cost items and raise funds for serving friends in need. Financial giving to SVDP is available using the GIVE ONLINE tab on the top of this page and choose SVDP under tithing options.
The Society welcomes new members and is grateful for referrals regarding those in need. To contact them, please call 920-604-2320 and a Vincentian will return your call.
